Built on the already mighty GTO platform, the Royal Bobcat package from the Royal Pontiac dealership in Michigan transformed Pontiac’s “goat” into one of the quickest road cars of the 1960s. These were factory-backed, dealer-installed performance upgrades to the second generation 1969 Pontiac GTO and could be ordered over the counter! With an estimated horsepower of 390–420 hp (depending on setup) and the ability to cover a quarter of a mile in less than 13 seconds, this was a serious piece of kit.
